I’m pretty fired up about this one.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/01/21/obama-lift-ban-funding-groups-providing-abortions-overseas/
I’ve always been pretty outspoken on how I feel about abortion.
But let’s say for a moment…let’s pretend that I think it is okay. That’s a pretty big leap.
Why are we funding abortions in other countries?
This certainly isn’t a practice that began with this administration and I doubt it will [...]

I haven’t watched much inauguration coverage today. Mostly b/c I live in Alaska which gives me a time zone handicap. I plan on catching up later…because I’m quite sure they will be replaying it.
Let’s talk about the important part though.
The clothes.
Michelle Obama hit it out of the park.
Say what you want about politics…but that woman [...]

Post-election dysmorphic disorder? I’m pretty sure that they haven’t come out with a drug to treat this yet…but I’m sure they will soon.
I’m not talking about how it turned out, that is another post for another day. I’m talking about the news withdrawal. I have been reading election news non-stop for at least a year…really, [...]

As I go to bed tonight…I leave you with these verses…
1 Timothy 2:1-2 (KJV)
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
Regardless [...]

Those that have known me for a long time know that I luv luv luv to watch election coverage. LOVE IT. (Hi…my name is Davita and I’m a nerd.)
I’ve only been able to vote in three presidential elections so far. I early voted in this one…(great way to miss the lines)…and I’ll be watching coverage [...]

This will probably be my first and last post devoted solely to politics.
I’ve talked to a lot of people about the election during the past few weeks. And, not always by choice. I’ve been done mentally with this election for a while.
I don’t know that I’ve ever agreed with EVERYTHING a political candidate said. In [...]

Were you raised being taught that certain topics of conversation were off limits?
My mom always taught me that you only discuss religion and politics with your very close friends. And, she taught me to never discuss money with anyone. For example…never, ever, ask someone what they paid for a large ticket item…or how much [...]

I’ve been indecisive lately about what to do with this blog. Not a lot of note-worthy things going on in the land of Davita these days…so my posts have become mostly mundane rambling. Come to think of it…I do a lot of mundane rambling in person too…so it shouldn’t really be shocking that my blog [...]

It seems to me that over the past few years there have been many more tragic natural disasters. I’m not sure if there actually have been more, or if I’m just more aware of the news as I’m getting older. Does anyone else feel this way?
I’ve started listening to the radio at work. The station [...]

I fixed my hair today…meaning that I actually dried it and ran a flat iron through it rather than either letting it try naturally curly or putting it in a pony tail like I do ever other day. Three people have asked me if I got it cut and my boss asked me if I [...]
