yikes! I sent the last one off before I was done.

Anyway, I was looking for a place to do team building for the company I work for, some one suggested Whirly ball(no, we don't have one) and I ended up reading your blog. I would be more than happy to answer any questions you have about Alaska.

We already have termination dust on the mountains(a dusting of snow)The puddles in my yard are starting to freeze at night. The leaves are. . . .leaving.

Winter can be paradise as long as you dress for the cold, find a sport to do outside and have hot butter rum mix in the fridge. There is a poem by Robert Frost, The Spell of the Yukon, last lines are "It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder, It's the stillness that fills me with peace." I hope by coming here you find the thrill and/or the peace you want.

Oh yeah, try not to bitch about the cold. Most true Alaskans feel "if it's too cold for you, move south or shut up". Truth be, we like it cold it keeps the population down so the ones that truely belong here can thrive. Keep your mind open and expect nothing, This place reveles it's wonder when your not expecting it.

Last thought for you is, I have lived up here most of my life and there hasn't been a day of it I haven't saw something that made me say "WOW!" All the best, M.
